Happy Birthday, Kate

Today is i {heart} papers owner Kate’s birthday and the IHP team is joining together to celebrate. Here’s the card I created for the occasion. It’s already in the mail and on its way to her—Chloe the cutie puppy and I dropped it in the mailbox yesterday during our way too early in the morning (and way too hot!) walk before I left for work.

The card’s based on the current sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog. I used one of the pretty flowers from Avery Elle’s Petals and Stems set for my focal image. The flower is fussy cut and adhered to the white panel over a stamped green leaf. I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment from Avery Elle’s Handwritten Notes set in dark pink ink on a pale pink notch-ended strip. The stamped strip is adhered to the white panel beneath the flower image.

I layered the image panel on a celery green mat and edged it at the top and bottom with die cut dark pink scalloped strips. The finished panel is adhered to a pink dotted panel on a pale pink card base. Here are links to the rest of the IHP DT members who also have birthday wishes for Kate today:
