Color Throwdown 267-A Sparkly Christmas
It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Melody is our hostess this week and she’s challenging us to use these pretty colors—Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla, and Old Olive.
My card features some products from the brand new (as in released just yesterday!) Collection 9 release from Clear and Simple Stamps. I used a new stamp set and new dies along with the current sketch at the Clean and Simple Stamping blog to create this holiday card with a non-traditional color scheme.
I’ve had this pretty turquoise glitter paper in my stash for a long time and knew it would make beautiful snowflakes using the snowflake dies from the new Flurries Combo set. I used foam tape to adhere the snowflakes to a cream panel, then added a clear crystal at the center of each flake for even more sparkle. The “dreaming of a sparkly Christmas” sentiment from the Flurry Days Sentiments set is stamped between two of the flakes in a dark green ink. The sentiment is actually one long line of text, but it was easy to stamp it over two lines to fit my design. I edged the panel with narrow strips of kraft and turquoise cardstock, then layered it on an olive card base. Keeping the layout simple really lets those pretty snowflakes take center stage and shine!
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD267.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November/December guestie, Cindy Lawrence.

Flurry Days Sentiments stamp set, Party Teal Dawn, Kraft Like a Rockstar, and Kraft Like a Rockstar Green cardstock, Flurries Combo dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Memento Olive Grove ink (Tsukineko); Recollections Aqua glitter paper (Michaels); clear crystals; foam tape
