Hugs and Kisses
Here’s a sweet design for the current Sketch for You to Try. I took a break from all things fall and winter and skipped a little ahead to the next big holiday and a love themed design.
I started off with a pink and red color scheme inspired by the chevron patterned paper panel at the bottom of the card. The panel’s edged with a little red mini pom pom trim and adhered to a pink cardstock panel. I topped it with a strip of red cardstock covered with some pink faux suede ribbon. I stamped the “hugs ‘n kisses” sentiment from Reverse Confetti’s I Like You stamp set in red ink on a grid patterned paper panel, then set the stamped panel on top of the cardfront on an angle to add interest. Yes, it strays from the sketch, but just a teeny, tiny bit like this is okay, right?
Once all of the panels were in place, I went back and added in a few embellishments. I used a pair of die cut hearts—one felt and one cork—to represent the round element on the edge of the sentiment panel. To fill in the white space, I randomly attached a trio of red enamel dots around the hearts. A piece of knotted pink ribbon placed where the trio of panels on the card front meets finishes off the design.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Reverse Confetti I Like You stamp set, Tsukineko Memento Luxe Love Letter ink, My Mind’s Eye My Girl 6x6 paper pad, May Arts fuchsia faux suede ribbon, Canvas Corp. cork sheets, Doodlebug Design Lady Bug Sprinkles enamel dots
