It’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! I used the sketch to make a school themed thank you card, inspired by the current Card Concept back to school challenge.
I fashioned a chalkboard panel from a kraft cardstock frame filled in with a piece of gray cardstock. To add depth to the frame, I inked the edges with some distress ink. I probably should have used my finger to rub a little white ink "chalk dust" on the gray chalkboard part . . .
The frame was adhered to a piece of red distressed patterned paper. I tucked a gray fishtail flag strip underneath the bottom edge of the frame, then topped the chalkboard with a round panel stamped with an apple and sentiment from Reverse Confetti's Class Act stamp set. I accented the apple with a tiny red button tied with linen thread. The finished panel was adhered to a dotted patterned paper panel that matched the pattern on the stamped apple, then layered on to a kraft card base.
To play along, just create a card based on the sketch and link it up on Karen’s blog. For lots of inspiration be sure to check out what the other Sweet Sunday Sketch stampers have created for you this week. Here’s where to find them:
