Poppy Sketches Love

After a long week at work (going back to kindergarten is tough, my friends!), I put together this simple card for the current sketch and pop of color at Poppy Sketches.  I turned to my Winnie and Walter sets for their big, bold sentiments that make perfect focal images for cards.

Love You card-designed by Lori Tecler/Inking Aloud-stamps from Winnie and Walter
This time I combined words from two sets--The Big, the Bold, and the You and The Big, the Bold, and the Happy--to get my "love you" sentiment.  It was stamped in red pigment ink on a piece of patterned paper, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder for a little shine.

After matting the stamped panel on red cardstock and adhering it to a cream card base, I ran a strip of pink paper across the top.  The pink paper is edged with a contrasting red cardstock strip and some  cream trim.  A few yellow sequins sprinkled around the sentiment completed the design.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold, and the You and The Big, the Bold, and the Happy stamp sets; Tsukineko Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk ink; Fancy Pants Burlap and Bouquets 6x6 paper pad; yellow sequins

other:  Cherry Cobbler cardstock (Stampin' Up!); clear embossing powder (Michaels); May Arts cream trim

  3. love that cream patterned panel too. Allows the red sentiment to shine, but adds a visual texture.
