It's time for another Color Throwdown! It's my turn to be hostess this week and I've chosen a summery tote with an on trend pineapple embellishment for inspiration that features the colors kraft, yellow, and green.
I took my inspiration from the pineapple on the tote and paired the colors with the current Mix It Up challenge at SugarPea Designs. I used the sketch and the gold elements from the inspiration photo in my design. The pineapple from the Pineapple Paradise set is my focal image. I inked the base in yellow, then rolled the edges in kraft ink to get the two-toned look you see here.
The stamped image was cut with the matching die, then adhered to a yellow circle with foam tape. I wrapped a little kraft thread behind it to add some texture, then adhered the panel to a kraft cardstock panel with a strip of green and gold patterned paper near the top. I tucked a trio of die cut banner strips beneath the bottom edge of the circle and accented it with some gold sequins. The "thanks" sentiment from the Noted stamp set was stamped just beneath the patterned paper panel in green pigment ink. I adhered the finished panel to a coordinating golden yellow card base.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD397. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd397 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our June guestie, Kara Vrabel.
