Color Throwdown 402-Wishing You a Fin-tastic Day
It's time for another Color Throwdown! Barbara is our hostess this week and she's sharing a fun, fresh color combination--lime green, orchid, orange, and aqua. I paired the colors with the current sketch from Just Add Ink and the adorable mermaid stamp from Reverse Confetti.
I colored the mermaid image with Copic markers, then cut out the colored image with the matching die. I added a little sparkle to the mermaid's tail using a Spectrum Noir glitter pen. It's so pretty IRL!
I used a dotted aqua circle adhered to a lime green card base to make a background for the image. A wave strip was set across the bottom of the circle, then the mermaid was added on top. I stamped the "wishing you a fin-tastic day" sentiment on the right side of the wave strip, then added a trio of silver sequin "bubbles" to the top of the circle.
To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. Just be sure that the challenge colors are the dominant ones in your project. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD402. If you upload your projects on social media, go ahead and use the hashtag #ctd402 and #colorthrowdown. You can find us on Instagram (and on Facebook!) with the username colorthrowdown.
Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team, our July guestie, Kim Singdahlsen, and this week's guest star stamper, Colleen Begley.
