Tall Love Card

I made this card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. It's another non-standard sized card--the second I've done this week.

The starting point for this card was the fun striped paper I found at a craft store a little while ago. The paper is both shiny and flocked. It looks really cool in person. My photographing skills do not do it justice--LOL!

I stamped heart images from the Love & Luck set from Kitchen Sink Stamps on square shimmery white cardstock scraps. I stamped the scalloped heart image first, then filled it in with different patterned hearts. I love how the two step images let you give this set such different looks! I layered the hearts on scalloped squares and attached the squares to a piece of red textured cardstock. I added a pink scalloped strip to one side of the red panel and wrapped a piece of pink ribbon around the panel to tie in the pink in the patterned paper.

I stamped the "xoxo" sentiment from the Love & Luck set on another scrap of shimmery white cardstock and punched it out with the word window punch. To make it into a tag, I just added a black eyelet (haven't used one of those in a while . . . ). I used a piece of silver cord to attach it to the card.

On the left side of the card, I added three black buttons to the patterned paper with glue dots. To make the "stitch" in the buttons, I simply drew a line with my white gel pen. So easy!

I need to head off to sleep soon. Tomorrow morning (yes, Saturday morning!) I have my first grad school class of the semester. I'm not thrilled about taking a Saturday class, especially one that meets for 5 hours at a time, but I keep reminding myself that I have only two more classes left after I finish this one, then I graduate.

Materials Used:
Love & Luck stamp set (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Midnight Black chalk ink (VersaMagic); Pearlescent Poppy pigment ink(Brilliance); red textured cardstock (Bazill); Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, and Shimmery White cardstock, Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, black eyelet, word window punch, silver cord, corner rounder, dimensionals (Stampin' Up!); scalloped square punch (Marvy Uchida); patterned paper (Heidi Grace); black buttons (Walmart)
