Sketches {by Tamara} #37

Here's the card I created for this week's sketch from Sketches {by Tamara}. All of the circles on this layout were fun to work with.

I decided to go with a cupcake theme, inspired by the sentiment I used from Savvy Stamps that says, "have your cupcake and eat it too." I stamped the sentiment directly on the ribbon using Chocolate Chip ink.

The cupcakes are from one of Papertrey Ink's new sets, It's a Celebration. I stamped the tops of the cupcakes in craft ink and heat embossed them with Iridescent Ice embossing powder for some sparkle. The cupcakes fit perfectly inside the 1" circles. I layered each cupcake on a 1 1/8" pink circle and a 1 1/4" brown circle, then arranged them on the card.

The cupcake in the lower right corner is actually on the inside of the card. I carefully lined up and punched a 1 1/8" circle through the patterned paper, the pink mat, the cardfront, and the 1 1/4" Close to Cocoa circle. The cupcake image and pink mat are adhered to the inside of the card, lined up to be visible when the card is closed. It's a fun touch and a little bit different, too.

Be sure to stop by Sketches {by Tamara} to see what the other design team members have done with this week's sketch. And, Tamara's still looking for guest designers to feature on her blog. All you need to do to be considered is use one of her sketches (either for cards or scrapbook pages) and leave a link to your creation.
