Simple Life

Here's my card for Dawn's latest color challenge--white, soft aqua, and brown. Like I said yesterday, browns and blues together are one of my favorite combinations, so I had to try this version out.

I paired Papertrey Ink cardstock and inks with a PTI set I hadn't used yet, Life to make this clean and simple card. I really like the variety of elegant silhouette images in this set and the modern look of the sentiments, too.

I inked the longest silhouette image with Aqua Mist ink and stamped it once on a narrow strip of white cardstock. It's matted on a panel of Dark Chocolate cardstock.

I layered the panel on an Aqua Mist card base. A piece of dark brown grosgrain ribbon breaks up the blue panel a bit. To soften the contrast of the brown stripe, I added a coordinating Aqua Mist button to the center of the bow, tied with a piece of twine. I stamped the sentiment above the bow, taking advantage of the clear stamps to get the words lined up as I wanted them.
