Unity Addicts Challenge: Fall Inspiration

Here’s my card for this week’s Unity Addicts challenge. Maria provided us with an inspiration photo from a Pier1 advertisement to use for our projects.

I used just a tiny piece of the image for my inspiration—the leaves at the corner of the photo. I used the three different sized leaf images from the new September Stampin’ Store Kit for my image panel. This kit isn't available at Unity, but you can find it at some retail stores--I got mine from i {heart} papers. The leaves are stamped in autumn-like colors—rust, brown, and mustard—on a cream panel. I sponged around the edges of the panel a bit, too.

I tied a piece of bold orange silk ribbon around the panel. I threaded a piece of twine through the knot, taking inspiration from the raffia wraps around the candles in the inspiration photo. The panel is layered on a mustard card base and accented with paper piercing around one corner. I layered the “thankful” sentiment over a portion of the image panel, embellished with a single wooden button.

Materials Used:
Everything Extraordinary- Unity Stamp Co. September Stampin’ Store Kit, orange silk ribbon (i {heart} papers); More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa, and Creamy Caramel Classic inks, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, and Very Vanilla cardstock, mat pack and paper piercing tool (Stampin’ Up!); wood button, twine (Papertrey Ink)
