I stamped Verve’s Whimsy Tree Plain Jane image twice on cream cardstock. After coloring the images with Copic markers, I cut out the tree top from one image and attached it to the other panel with foam tape for a dimensional look. The “you’re my hero” sentiment from the Thankful Hearts set fit nicely in the lower left corner of the panel.I used more brown and green for the rest of the card. I picked a brown paper with green dots for the large panel on the cardfront and matted both the patterned paper and image panel on a bright green paper. I used a strip of dark brown ribbon, accented with a button, underneath the image panel. Everything’s layered on a kraft card base to complete the card.
Materials Used:
Whimsy Tree and Thankful Hearts stamp sets (Verve Stamps); Rich Cocoa ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Vintage Cream and New Leaf cardstock, Dotty Biscotti designer paper, brown button, twine (Papertrey Ink); Kraft cardstock, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); foam tape
For the second card, I was inspired by the stars and stripes and colors in one of the rooms. I paired these elements with images from Verve’s new Always on My Mind set.I stamped the sentiment on the oval panel first using red ink, then added the dangling star images at different heights around it. The stars are colored with a red Copic marker and covered with some Stickles for lots of shimmer and sparkle.
I used two different patterned papers for the panels on the cardfront. They’re both matted with a dark blue cardstock then layered on the red card base. I attached the stamped image panel and added a small knotted ribbon embellishment at the panel’s base.
Materials Used:
Always on My Mind stamp set (Verve Stamps); Tuxedo Black ink (Copic); marker (Copic); white cardstock (Xerox); Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, and Not Quite Navy cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); designer paper (Creative Imaginations); Enchanted Evening grosgrain ribbon (Papertrey Ink); Ruby Slipper Glitz Stickles (Ranger)
