I'll Owl-ways Be Your Friend
***Be sure to scroll down to the post below to see my project for this month's i {heart} papers design team challenge.***
Here’s my card for this week’s Our Craft Lounge sketch challenge. I used the two different owl images from the Swingin' By set for the trio of circles running along the right edge of the card. The owls are colored with Copic markers in earthy tones and their eyes are dotted with some Glossy Accents to add some interest (doesn’t show too well in the photo, though . . .)
I used more earth tones for the rest of the card. Most of the card front is covered with a panel of Upsy Daisy patterned paper. I embossed a portion of a mustard panel with the Diamonds and Dots embossing folder and set that across the center of the cardfront, edged with narrow strips of paper pierced olive cardstock to set it apart from the patterned paper. A strip of brown crepe ribbon is tied just underneath where the embossing ends and the set's friendship sentiment is stamped just below the knot. The owl images are attached to the cardfront with foam tape.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Our Craft Lounge Swingin' By stamp set, Couture Cardstock white Copic blending cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic markers, Nestabilities circle dies, QuicKutz Diamonds and Dots embossing folder, Upsy Daisy A Walk in the Park-Beautiful designer paper, Creative Impressions brown crepe ribbon, Ranger Glossy Accents
other: Old Olive, More Mustard, and Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); foam tape
