To keep the focus on the ATC, I kept the rest of the card simple. I used some earthy colored dotted paper from KaiserCraft's Up, Up and Away paper pad (just arrived at i {heart} papers!) to cover most of the cardfront, then added a strip of rust paper embellished with a gold faux suede ribbon and a pair of copper brads.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Unity Stamp Co. August 2010 Stampin’ Store Kit, Tsukineko Memento Rich Cocoa ink and Copper Shimmer Spritz, KaiserCraft Up, Up and Away designer paper, May Arts antique gold faux suede ribbon
other: Creamy Caramel Classic ink, Dusty Durango, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); copper brads (Making Memories); foam tape
For this one, I went a little more whimsical. The card is based on this week’s Hip Hop sketch challenge and features the cute bee image from Unity’s Everyday Adorable.
The bee is set in a simple scene. Looking at it now, I probably should have stamped the image a little higher up on the panel. Oh, well . . . I used Copic markers to draw in some grass beneath the bee and used Palette's Ballet Blue ink to sponge in a sky with clouds. The bee’s wings are coated with Crystal Stickles for an iridescent look.
I used some of the new Cosmo Cricket Togetherness designer paper for the panel on the cardfront. A pair of ribbons—a scallop edged yellow velvet and a pale blue faux suede—run across the card, underneath the image panel. The “bee-lieve in yourself” sentiment is accented with a trio of clear crystals. I used foam tape to layer it on to the cardfront.
Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers: Unity Stamp Co. Everyday Adorable kit, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Couture Cardstock white Copic blending cardstock, Copic markers (Y11, Y13, Y18, YG01, YG05, YG15, YG25, B000, B0000, C-1), Palette Ballet Blue ink, Cosmo Cricket Togetherness designer paper and yellow velvet scallop trim, Ranger Crystal Stickles, May Arts light blue faux suede ribbon, Zva Creative clear crystal dots

ReplyDeletebeautiful card but I don't want fall to start yet.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty! Love that you made two completely different styles! Both are lovely, in their own way. The leaves on the top one are really great!! And the bee! Well, he's just as cute as he can bee!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Wendy
