I went with a birthday theme for my card. To keep it festive, I used four different colored designer papers for the panels on the cardfront. I made sure I picked papers with small, simple patterns so that they wouldn’t compete too much with each other.
Once I had the papers in place, I stamped the “celebrate good times” sentiment from Verve’s Birthday Bash set on a rounded edge panel. I stamped the set’s small balloon image at the left side of the panel, letting most of the balloon image extend over the top of the panel. I stamped the balloon again on a cardstock scrap and colored it in, then cut it out and attached it to the panel with some foam tape. The panel is layered on a light blue mat, then set on the card with more foam tape. A strip of red grosgrain ribbon with notched edges runs underneath it. I managed to find a trio of matching tiny red buttons to use as an embellishment on the cardfront. Each button is threaded with twine and held in place with a glue dot.
Materials Used:
Birthday Bash stamp set (Verve Stamps); white cardstock (Couture Cardstock); Tuxedo Black ink (Memento); markers (Copic); Bashful Blue cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); patterned papers, Pure Poppy buttons, twine (Papertrey Ink); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels); foam tape
