5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Here’s my card for this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I turned the sketch upside down to make the perfect backdrop for the rocket ship image from the Half Pint Heroes set.
For the background, I embossed a dark blue panel with a star pattern. I used a pair of half circles to make a moon at the bottom of the card. On one half circle, I punched circles in a random pattern, then covered the piece with shimmer spray. It’s attached to the other circle with foam tape for a Swiss-cheese like moon surface.
The rocket ship image is colored with Copic markers. I used some silver Smooch and a black Spica glitter pen to add a few decorative accents to it. A clear page pebble sits over the ship’s window. I used foam tape to place it in the sky above the moon, then added a banner strip with the traditional “5 . . 4. . 3. . 2. . 1” countdown stamped on it in red ink. The space theme and bold primary color scheme will make this a perfect birthday card for a little boy.
Materials Used:
Half Pint Heroes stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps); white cardstock, star embossing plate (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug inks, Sparkle Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko); markers, black Spica Pen (Copic); Real Red, Daffodil Delight, and Pacific Point cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); circle dies (Spellbinders); clear page pebble (Making Memories); double-ended banner die (Papertrey Ink); Silver Fox Smooch (Clearsnap); foam tape
