XOXO
This week’s Our Craft Lounge challenge theme is heart-“felt” creations, meaning to use fabric or felt in your project. I created a clean and simple card incorporating both trendy chevrons (perfect for last week’s challenge!) and seasonal hearts in one little design.
I started out by stamping the two different chevron images from the Every Heart Beat set repeatedly on patterned paper strips—the narrower one in pink ink on a pale pink strip and the wider one in red on a red strip. The papers are attached to form a long strip with a piece of red grosgrain ribbon hiding the seam between the two. The strip is attached to a kraft card base. For my fabric element, I die cut a pair of hearts from felt, layered them and attached them to the cardfront. The “xoxo” sentiment from the Notes of Love set is stamped in red ink on a cream strip and attached to the cardfront with a little red faux stitching—I figured a little stitching detail was a good match for the felt embellishment.
Materials Used:
Every Heart Beat and Notes of Love stamp sets (Our Craft Lounge); Riding Hood Red and Pretty in Pink Classic inks, Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Memento Lady Bug marker (Tsukineko); Heart Prints dies, Vintage Cream and Pure Poppy felt (Papertrey Ink); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels)
