Sew Happy

Here's my card for this week's Our Craft Lounge challenge to use a vintage button or buttons.  I combined the challenge with this week's CAS-ual Fridays sketch challenge for this simple sewing themed card.

For one of the sketch's small square panels, I used an almost square piece of white fabric with delicate pink dots.  To coordinate with the card's sewing theme, I cut the fabric piece with pinking shears and machine stitched around the edges before adhering it to the kraft panel.  I added a vintage-ish cream button, tied with kraft twine, at the bottom corner of the panel.  The "sew happy for you" sentiment from the Years Gone By set is stamped just under the button in brown ink.

To add a little interest to the design, I inked around the edges of the kraft panel with some distress ink.  After machine stitching around the panel's edges, I attached it to a light pink card base.

Stop by the OCL blog to check out the details about the challenge--there's a $20 OCL gift certificate up for grabs for one randomly selected participant in this month's challenges . . .

Materials Used:
Years Gone By stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); Memento Rich Cocoa ink (Tsukineko); Tea Dye distress ink (Ranger); Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin' Up!); cream button (Papertrey Ink); kraft twine (Hemptique); fabric; sewing machine
