i {heart} papers Design Team Challenge

For this month’s i {heart} papers design team challenge, we’re thrilled to show off Happy Camper, a brand new stamp set from Paper Smooches. The set will be available today at IHP.  You'll want to be sure to read to the end of the post so you don't miss out on everything else that's going on at IHP today--and for the next few days, too!

I used two of the set’s images to dress up a simple cardstock basket I made to hold a s’mores kit. The basket’s  made from a piece of kraft cardstock that I scored and trimmed to form a simple open top box shape. It’s held together with some of IHP’s super strong i {stick} papers redline tape. In keeping with the outdoorsy/camping theme, I used a red checked pattern from Echo Park’s Country Drive Collection kit that reminds me of a checked tablecloth for the panels that decorate the sides of the basket. I made a handle from a strip of kraft cardstock covered with the same patterned paper. A pair of brads, one on each side, provides a little additional reinforcement where the ends of the handle meet the basket.

I stamped the set’s campfire image on a white cardstock circle and colored it with Copic markers. I stamped it a second time, this time coloring just the flames. After cutting out the colored portion and spraying it with some Dandelion Fireworks shimmer spray for a fun sparkle, I used dimensional dots to attach it to the round panel. I stamped the set's marshmallows on a stick image on a cardstock scrap and cut it out, then added it to the panel, too. A kraft strip runs underneath the image panel, stamped with the word "enjoy" from the Yummers set.  Once the basket was finished, I added a chocolate bar, some graham crackers, and a few marshmallows to complete the kit. Yum!

  4. I love this little kit! What a great gift! I'd love some s'mores right now, without the camping part. :)
