You're a Lifesaver
***Scroll down to the post below to see my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!***
Here’s my card for today’s SCS sketch challenge. With all the rain we’ve had here over the last few days—including a monster downpour during my drive home from work today—it seemed appropriate to use an image with a boat in it!
I colored the sailing bunny from the Aye, Aye Captain set from The Cat's Pajamas with Copic markers. That bunny's got a large pair of ears, so I ended up using the out of the box technique on the panel so that the ears extend off the panel's edge. Instead of using a half-circle shaped panel behind the upper left corner of the image panel, I used the largest cloud cut apart from a strip of felt clouds cut with the CutUps Cloud Border die and a big yellow button “sun” tied with yellow baker's twine as an accent.
The panel at the bottom of the card has a simple star pattern. I used Versafine black ink to stamp the set's "you're a lifesaver" sentiment--this ink's great for stamping a sentiment on patterned paper!
Materials Used:
Aye, Aye Captain stamp set, Neenah white cardstock, Versafine Onyx Black ink, CutUps Cloud Border die, Divine Twine yellow baker's twine (The Cat's Pajamas); Marina Mist and Poppy Parade cardstock (Stampin' Up!); American Made designer paper (My Mind's Eye); button (Papertrey Ink); white felt
