You Are My Anchor
Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. I got some brand new MFT goodies in my mailbox earlier this week, so I inked up one of my new a la modes sets for this week’s sketch.
I stamped the anchor-toting a la mode girl and colored her with Copic markers, then carefully cut out the colored image. I used some foam tape to attach it to a light blue panel.
Since my image was kind of tall, I ended up stretching the sketch from a square to a standard A2 sized card—things got a little distorted, but the basic sketch elements are still there! I used both sides of an Authentique patterned paper for the panels on the card, layering them both on navy cardstock. A strip of khaki twill runs across the card, just underneath the image panel. I edged it with a wave-shaped strip cut with a border punch—and yes, it’s upside-down, but I think it still works! A strip of red cardstock is slipped underneath the wave border to help it stand out. Once I had everything else arranged on the cardfront, I went back and added the set’s “you are my anchor” sentiment on a strip of red cardstock.
Materials Used:
a la modes You Anchor Me stamp set (My Favorite Things); Marshmallow cardstock (Bazzill); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko);markers (Copic); Night of Navy, Real Red, and Bashful Blue cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Glory-Liberty designer paper (Authentique); twill (Wrights); Boundary Waters border punch (Fiskars); star brads (Recollections); foam tape
