Color Throwdown 204-Keep the Sun in Your Heart

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Broni’s our hostess this week and she’s brought us this warm color combination— Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, Basic Gray, and Very Vanilla. I used the colors along with the current Clean and Simple Stamping sketch for this encouraging card.

I mixed and matched elements from three different Lawn Fawn stamp sets on this card. For the image panel, I used the sun and smile images from the Sunny Skies set, stamped on a piece of text print patterned paper, along with the solid cloud image from the Partly Cloudy set, stamped in gray ink. The sun’s set directly on the vanilla panel and the cloud’s positioned over it with dimensional dots. For a little sparkle, I covered the sun with a little shimmer spray before attaching it to the panel. The “keep the sun in your heart” sentiment from the Partly Cloudy set’s stamped at the bottom of the panel in Memento’s Morocco ink—it’s a pretty good match for Poppy Parade.

 The two gray panels at the top and bottom of the card are stamped with one of the chevron patterns from the Chevron Backdrops set. It was an easy way to dress up the strips and add some interest to the design.
