Have a Sunshiney Day

***Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my Clear and Simple Stamps Party Hop creation.***

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I went scrappy on this one, using a dimensional flower as my focal image instead of a stamped panel.

The flower is made using the Sunflower Rosette die from The Cat's Pajamas.  This die is so versatile--I've used it flat as a sunflower and as a sun and, as you can see, it makes a really pretty rosette sunflower, too.  The dot embossed circle panel (the die is included with the rosette set)  adds a lot of interest, too.  I set the sunflower on a dot embossed kraft panel that I dirtied up with some distress inks to add depth.

I found a few scraps from my scrap pile to use to make the notch-ended strips that are layered below the sunflower.  I went with my standby dots and stripes combination, then added the "have a sunshiney day" sentiment from the Spring Rain stamp set on a kraft panel.

And, speaking of The Cat's Pajamas, don't miss the big end of summer sale going on right now through August 13.  You'll get 25% off (with the exception of the Kitty Kat or Poochie Packs) when you enter items into your cart. Happy shopping!

Materials Used:
Spring Rain stamp set, Sunflower Rosette die (The Cat's Pajamas); Antique Linen and Tea Dye distress inks (Ranger); So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Dutch Mustard 6x6 paper pad (Jillibean Soup); Swiss Dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug)
