Oh, the Places You'll Go

The new school year starts next week around here, so preparations are in full swing. Here’s a super sweet encouraging card for the start of the school year that I made for this week’s Kraftin’ Kimmie challenge.

I colored the Bookworm Jaime image with Copic markers in a mostly primary color scheme to match the colors I used on the cardfront. The image is matted on a golden yellow panel, then set on a red dotted panel. I used a fun multicolored striped paper for the large partial circle accent in the upper left corner of the card. A trio of twine threaded red buttons accent the striped circle.

The set’s coordinating sentiment is stamped on a kraft cardstock strip with a notched end. I attached it to the cardfront so that it overlaps the image panel just a tiny bit.

Materials Used:
Bookworm Jaime stamp set (Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); markers (Copic); Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, and Crumb Cake cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Fly a Kite 8x8 paper pad (October Afternoon); 365 Degrees 6x6 paper pad (Pink Paislee); circle dies (Spellbinders); red grosgrain ribbon, red buttons (Michaels); twine (Hemptique)
