Primitive Pumpkin Halloween
Here's my card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to make a project inspired by autumn. I went with a harvest theme using the new Primitive Pumpkins stamp set from My Favorite Things along with this week's sketch from Retro Sketches.
I stamped two of the set's pumpkin images on orange cardstock and cut them out. I set them aside while I worked on a background for the images. The background is a kraft panel, inked with a bunch of different distress inks to make a sky. A die cut white picket fence is set at the bottom of the panel and the pumpkin pair is attached on top of the fence. For a little sparkle on the simple scene, I cut apart a larger crystal flourish and used two of the small parts for little leaves coming from the pumpkin stems.
The "Happy Halloween" sentiment from the Spider Web set is stamped in black ink on a kraft strip. After wrapping one end with twine, I attached the strip to the panel, then layered it on an olive panel and a kraft card base. It's not spooky, but it's still seasonal.
Materials Used:
Primitive Pumpkins and Spider Web stamp sets (My Favorite Things); Memento Tangelo, Rich Cocoa, and Tuxedo Black inks (Tsukineko); Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint, and Tea Dye distress inks (Ranger); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); fence die (Clear and Simple Stamps); hemp twine (Hemptique); foam tape
