School Notes

Here's my card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays school themed challenge.  I used this week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch, flipped on its side, along with one of my favorite Our Craft Lounge stamp sets for the card.  My card also fits the current OCL back to school challenge.

I stamped the pencil image from the School Notes stamp set on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out and used foam tape to add it as an accent to a panel with the alphabet written out in cursive.  I was going to use the set's ABC and 123 stamps to stamp on a black cardstock panel, chalkboard style, but when I came across this paper, I knew it would be perfect!

The "chalboard" panel is accented with a striped paper strip beneath it and a wide red grosgrain ribbon at the right side to add a little color to alongside the black.  Everything's arranged on a kraft card base.  I decided to leave off a sentiment for now, but might add one later on . . .

Materials Used:
School Notes stamp set (Our Craft Lounge); white cardstock (Taylored Expressions); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Crumb Cake and Basic Black cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Six by Six-School Daze paper pad (My Mind's Eye); red grosgrain ribbon (Dollar Tree); foam tape
