TCP Tuesday 229-Admit One for Birthday Fun

For this week’s TCP Tuesday challenge, Susan’s challenging us to use one of TCP’s fun penguin images along with either the CutUps Big Ticket or Anywhere Ribbon Slide die. I used one of the penguins from the Clownin’ Around set with the Big Ticket die for a clean and simple birthday card design.

I used the Big Ticket die to cut a long strip of attached tickets from kraft cardstock (see here for my tips on how to do this), then used a bunch of images from the coordinating Admit One set to fill in the blank tickets. Once I’d finished stamping on the tickets, I rubbed the edges with distress ink for a weathered look. I attached the ticket strip to a piece of blue dotted paper, angling it to add interest, then trimmed away the extra pieces of the ticket strip.

The penguin is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink on white cardstock—this is my favorite ink for penguins since it makes the black parts of the image a really dark, solid black. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out, then attached it to the blue panel with foam tape. The centers of the two flowers are dotted with Liquid Pearls for a little dimension.

For all the details on this week’s challenge and how you can play along to be eligible to win this week’s Cat Cash prize, stop by the TCP forum on SCS.
