Waltzingmouse Blog Dance-Give Thanks
The theme for this month's Waltzingmouse Blog Dance is fall. The weather's definitely taken a fall-like turn around here with much cooler temperatures. While I'm not looking forward to the shorter days, I have to admit that it's much nicer to walk Chloe the cutie puppy with a slight chill in the air than it was during summer with the triple digit temperatures and high humidity!
Here's my fall inspired card, based on this week's Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. I used the leaf image from the Frame It set for my focal image, stamping it in two different colors on kraft squares. The squares are layered on orange mats, then set on a cream panel stamped with one of the gingham patterns from the Gingham & Co. set. The panel's edges are inked with distress ink and machine stitched with a kraft colored thread.
I stamped the "give thanks" sentiment from the Teeny Trees set underneath the leaf blocks, then attached the panel to a kraft card base. A strip of bright orange twill is wrapped around the cardfront with its ends tied in a pretty bow. The twill adds a little texture and a nice, finished look to the simple card.
Materials Used:
Frame It, Teeny Trees, and Gingham & Co. stamp sets (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Vivid Straw and Butterscotch inks (Clearsnap); Memento Tangelo and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); Tea Dye distress ink (Ranger); Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); orange twill (Michaels); sewing machine
