Wow

Have you been following Style Watch from Clear and Simple Stamps? This weekly feature always has some fabulous eye candy and ideas. I was inspired by the “letter love” theme in this week’s edition to create this fun card with some CSS letter dies as the focus.

I went with a superhero sort of theme on my card, starting with the Sunburst stamp inked in Golden Tiara ink, then in watermark ink and stamped on Golden Tiara cardstock. I covered the image with clear embossing powder and heat embossed it for a fun, two toned, textured appearance.

For the “emblem” in the center, I die cut letters to spell wow using the Lowercase Alphabet dies. The letters are cut from red cardstock and covered with clear glitter for a sparkly look. I attached the letters to a pair of layered Favor Flag strips, then attached the strip to the embossed panel with foam tape. As if the sparkly letters, silver Favor Flag, and embossed panel didn’t bring enough shimmer and shine to the design, I added some clear crystal flourishes to the mix, too. The panel is set on a silver panel, then on a red card base for a nice pop of color. Wow!

Materials Used:
Sunburst stamp set, Golden Tiara ink, Golden Tiara and Dare to Be a Diva Red cardstock, Favor Flags and Lowercase Alphabet dies (Clear and Simple Stamps); Versamark ink (Tsukineko); clear embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds (Stampin’ Up!); Recollections silver paper and clear crystal flourishes (Michaels); foam tape
