Frightful and Delightful
There are still a few more days before Halloween, so I thought I’d squeeze in another Halloween card or two before the big day—and, I promise, I’ll share a photo of Chloe the cutie puppy in her Halloween costume on the big day. We (well, really, me) are still deciding between two super cute different costume options. It’s hard to find a good costume for a girl dog who isn’t really feminine or girly!
Anyway, here’s my Halloween themed card for today. It’s based on this week’s sketch from CASE this Sketch. I used a silver die cut spider web to fill in the open space in the orange gingham strip for a seasonal and spooky look. The gingham strip and web are attached to a gray card base. I stamped the “frightful & delightful” sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Boo to You stamp set directly on the patterned panel, right beneath the web, in black ink. I was worried the stamping might be lost in the pattern, but it seemed to show up okay. For a final spooky touch, I added a spider button with pearl eyes to the sparkly web.
Materials Used:
Boo to You stamp set, Orange Zest patterned paper, Spider Web die (Papertrey Ink); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Basic Gray cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); silver paper (Michaels); spider button (Blumenthal Lansing); self-adhesive pearls (Zva Creative)
