Blogger Challenge: Week 281
This week’s blogger challenge theme is paper piecing. I created this cheery get well card using this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and some new designer papers. I also incorporated the current Lawnscaping challenge to “dust ‘em off,” using something in your stash you haven’t used in a while. My Lawn Fawn On the Mend set’s been on the shelf for a while and I put it to good use on this card.
The paper piecing is on the tissue box image. I stamped it twice—once on dotted paper and once on a piece of coordinating cardstock. I cut out both images, then trimmed the cardstock one a little more. I used the piece I cut from the cardstock image to cover the top of the box. For a fun touch, I cut a slit in the box top and tucked in some tissue paper to look like tissues coming out from the top of the box. The paper pieced box is attached to the panel with dimensional dots for a more 3-d look.
I used three more patterned papers from the same Seen & Noted paper pad for the panels on the cardfront. I really like this collection, so you’ll probably be seeing a lot of it! Each panel is layered on a red mat, then arranged on the blue cardfront. I stamped “feel better soon” on a notch-ended strip and set that over the panels, accented with a red twine tied button.
And since it's (finally!) Friday, don’t forget that i {heart} papers is celebrating Black Friday every Friday in November with a sale each Friday-Sunday in November, with the culmination on Black Friday-Cyber Monday. This week's special is 12x12 Collections are 30% off!
