Color Throwdown 218-The Most Wonderful Time

It’s time for another Color Throwdown! Lynn is our hostess this week and she's challenging us to use Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso as inspired by this photo. I used the colors and this week’s Deconstructed Sketch to make a holiday card with a non-traditional color scheme.

I started off with a turquoise panel, embossed with a snowflake pattern. To give the raised areas a little snowflake-like sparkle, I lightly rubbed the panel with a shimmery white inkpad. I adhered two notch-ended strips to the panel, one in Soft Suede and one in Cool Caribbean, then set the panel with the holiday sentiment from Verve’s Christmas in the Air stamp set on top. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Espresso Truffle ink—a super dark brown that’s pretty close to SU!’s Early Espresso. I wrapped the panel with a piece of dotted brown ribbon edged with a scallop edged strip, then added a snowflake embellishment to the center of the ribbon. It’s dressed up with a clear crystal, colored blue with a Copic marker. The panel is layered on a Soft Suede mat, then set on a Cool Caribbean card base.

To play along, just create a paper crafted project using these colors as a starting point and add a direct link to your finished project using the linky tool found at the end of this week's CTD post. As always, if you don’t have exact color matches, something close works just fine. And, if you upload your project to an online gallery, use the keyword CTD218. Before you get started, here’s some inspiration from the talented Color Throwdown team and our November guestie, Lynn Mercurio.
