Thanks for the Lift
After a long week at work, I was too tired to make anything last night other than a quick card. The color combination from the current 10 Minute Craft Dash inspired this simple creation, which was helped along by a few leftovers from previous projects. It also fits the "thankful" theme for this week's CASology challenge.
I started off with a golden yellow card base. After adhering a strip of green cardstock along the left side of the card, I accented it with a pair of silver brads (then paused my timer for a few moments to locate a stray brad that fell off the table before it could be "claimed" by Chloe the cutie puppy--that's okay, right?). A fluffy white felt cloud left over from a previous project found its way onto the cardfront. I adhered an orange button tied with matching baker's twine as a sun at one side of the cloud. The kite from the Paper Smooches Sunny Side Up set was cut from a scrap of green dotted patterned paper, again left over from a previous project, and layered over the cloud with some dimensional dots. I used a black multiliner pen to draw in a string for the kite, then stamped the set's "thanks for the lift" sentiment next to the string. A quick check of the timer showed this one took 8 minutes and 52 seconds from start to finish. Not a bad way to end the work week!
And, speaking of ending the work week, i {heart} papers is celebrating Black Friday every Friday in November with a sale each Friday-Sunday in November, with the culmination on Black Friday-Cyber Monday. This week's special is all Spellbinders dies are 30% off! (Does not include co-branded dies like Flourishes.) Happy shopping!
