Cloud 9 December Blog Hop
Here's my card for this month's Cloud9 blog hop. I took bits and pieces from both photos provided for inspiration, choosing colors and a snowflake motif from the first photo and the packaging theme in the second, to create this winter greeting card.
I used the Chevron impression plate to make a simple textured backdrop for my card on a light blue panel. A cream die cut tag, inked around the edges with some distress ink, is layered over the textured background. Instead of making a hole in the tag, I adhered a twine threaded button at the top of the tag.
The tag is decorated with a snowflake die cut from red glitter paper with WPlus9's Simple Snowflake die. It's attached to the tag with foam tape. The "sending warm winter wishes" sentiment from the Winter Wishes set is stamped in red ink on a kraft banner strip and adhered to the card so it sticks out from underneath the sparkly snowflake.
Materials Used:
Winter Wishes stamp set, Chevron impression plate, and Simple Snowflake die (WPlus9); Bashful Blue, Real Red, and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Lady Bug ink (Tsukineko); Antique Linen distress ink (Ranger); red glitter paper, red button (Michaels); tag die (My Favorite Things); red baker's twine (Divine Twine); foam tape

This card is just gorgeous. That red snowflake really pops against the cream and light blue.
