The Color of the Year Is . . .
Just last week Pantone announced its color trend outlook for the upcoming year. They have designated emerald as 2013’s official color of the year. The Clear and Simple Stamps equivalent of this vivid green tone is Glamazon Green. I created a clean and simple card that highlights this trendy color.
When I looked at this shade of green, the idea of a clover immediately came to mind. I created one using a bunch of hearts die cut with one of the small heart dies from the Shapes: Hearts set. I cut 6 hearts, then stamped three with the matching dotted image from the Hearts Plus set. After scoring the stamped hearts at the center, I arranged them on a white panel, setting the solid hearts down first, then adding the scored and folded hearts on top for dimension. A green crystal at the center hides where the points of all of the hearts meet.
To highlight the clover, I used a die from the Shapes: Circles set to cut a window from a pair of layered cardstock panels—one white and one Glamazon Green. The panels are attached to the cardfront with foam tape, allowing the clover to peek through the round opening. I stamped the “lucky charm” sentiment from the Taglines set in black ink on a narrow Glamazon Green Favor Flags die cut strip and adhered that to the cardfront underneath the clover. The sentiment is accented with a small piece of knotted green satin ribbon.
