Wishing You Sunshine and Rainbows

Here’s a quick and cheery card for this week’s sketch at Retro Sketches. I used some dies from Lil’ Inker Designs to put this scrappy design together.

Instead of using three of the same shapes for the sketch’s trio of images, I used a rainbow and a pair of clouds. I picked bold colors for the rainbow bands so they’d stand out nicely against the light blue card base. Once the rainbow was in place, I adhered a yellow strip across the cardfront, covering the bottom of the rainbow. I used foam tape to attach a pair of white die cut clouds to the card to give the design a little dimension.

The cheerful sentiment is stamped on the yellow strip in black ink. I thought about using red or turquoise ink, but in the end, decided to stick with black.

Materials Used:
Rainbow and Clouds stamp set, cloud and rainbow dies (Lil’ Inker Designs); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); foam tape
