February IHP DT Challenge-Something Old and Something New

For this month's i {heart} papers design team challenge, we're showing off something old (collection kits) along with something new (Spectrum Noir markers).  I used the Echo Park Toy Box mini collection kit along with the markers and a Lawn Fawn stamp set to make a cheery little get well gift set that's perfect for this time of year.

The card's layout comes from this week's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.  I used a piece of multicolored patterned paper from the Toy Box kit for the funky shaped panel along the left side of the card.  The focal image is the adorable smiling tissue box from Lawn Fawn's On the Mend set. I colored the tissue box with some coordinating Spectrum Noir markers, then cut a slit in the top of the box so I could add some tissues popping up from it.  I adhered it to a round panel with dimensional dots, then added the "get well soon" sentiment on a die cut arrow.  The arrow is anchored with a blue button tied with a little white hemp cord.

To dress up the packet of tissues, I designed a simple holder out of more of the same patterned paper I used on the card.  The box is assembled with IHP's i {stick} papers redline tape.  To tie the two pieces together, I used another arrow die cut along with a twine tied button as the embellishment.  If you want to make one for yourself, you can download a file (PDF) with a printable template for the tissue packet holder here.

Don't miss what the rest of the IHP team has created using designer paper collection kits and Spectrum Noir markers.  Here's where to find them:
