You Rock
Here’s my take on this week’s Muse challenge. I was inspired by the color palette of Laurie’s card as well as the basic layout and design elements. My take is a simpler version of the layout that turns the feminine design into a masculine one.
Instead of using a five pointed flower as the focal image, I used a five pointed star, punched out of a scrap of gold glittered cardstock. I adhered the star to a white panel, then stamped the “you rock” sentiment in pale green ink in the opposite corner. The image panel is layered on a golden yellow mat, then set on a piece of grid patterned paper on top of an orange cardstock strip. The paper’s grid pattern works nicely with the clean lines in the sentiment’s font. I added a little notch-ended ribbon tab peeking out from underneath the image panel to balance the design.
Materials Used:
You stamp set (Simon Says Stamp); Memento Pear Tart ink (Tsukineko); So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White cardstock, large star punch, So Saffron grosgrain ribbon (Stampin’ Up!); This and That Charming-Numbers designer paper (Echo Park); gold glitter paper (Recollections-Michaels)
