Best Ever

Here's my card for this week's Seize the Birthday masculine card sketch challenge. When I posted my card for last week's challenge, I said I liked the sketch a lot and thought I'd be using it again--and here it is!

I used the one of the large block sentiments from the new Birthday Sentiments set from My Favorite Things as my focal image.  The image is stamped and embossed chalkboard-style on a dark gray cardstock panel.  I layered the image on a pair of cardstock panels, then used foam tape to adhere it to a star patterned paper panel.

I ran a strip of decorative tape along the edge of a white card base.  The tape's arrow pattern in neutral colors is perfect for masculine designs! After adhering a strip of Ocean Tides cardstock to the left edge of the patterned paper panel (cut the panel a little bit too narrow--oops!), I adhered it to the cardfront next to the decorative tape strip.  I didn't add any other embellishments--since it's a masculine card, I thought the "less is more" approach was the best one to take here!

Materials Used:
Birthday Sentiments stamp set, Steel Grey cardstock (My Favorite Things); white ink (WPlus9); Ocean Tides cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Follow Your Heart-"Be Amazing" Geo Star designer paper (My Mind's Eye); white embossing powder, decorative tape (Michaels); foam tape

  1. Great masculine card! Love the focal point being the sentiment and that strip of tape along the side.
