To show off my doily "flower," I die cut a round opening just a bit larger than the doily in a pink panel. The round opening is rimmed with a rose circle to add in just a little more color. The "love you mom" sentiment from the Compact Family set is stamped at the center of a vellum panel that's adhered underneath the round opening. The sentiment was stamped first in white pigment ink, then again in rose ink, slightly offset, to add interest. I used foam tape to adhere the panel so the window opening was centered over the stamped image on the card base. The design looked a little plain to me, so I dressed it up with a clear crystal flourish and a bow made from pale pink seam binding.
Here's a look at JJ's eye-catching design that was the inspiration for my card.
Materials Used:
Dainty Doilies-Large and Compact Family stamp sets (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Vivid Tea Rose ink (Clearsnap); white pigment ink (WPlus9); Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose cardstock (Stampin' Up!); white vellum (The Paper Company);circle dies (Spellbinders); clear crystal flourish (Michaels); pink seam binding (May Arts); foam tape
Wow! I love your take on JJ's card! I've always thought that the doilies work beautifully as flowers. I Like the way you've stamped the sentiment too - gives a lot of dimension. And that bling is fab!
