Oh Baby

Here’s my card for this week’s Muse challenge. I took my inspiration from the trio of stacked elephants on the inspiration card and put my own twist on the design to create this sweet baby card.

Instead of using a trio of paper pieced elephant images, I used a die cut giraffe and bird on my card. The animals are cut with the Large Baby Shower dies from Clear and Simple Stamps. I went with a fun herringbone pattern for the giraffe and a coordinating solid yellow for the bird. Each animal has a wiggly eye to give the shape some definition—and some whimsy, too. I added a yellow baker’s twine bow to the giraffe’s neck for some texture.

The animals are adhered to a light blue panel with foam tape. I stamped the “oh baby” sentiment from the Baby Shower stamp set on a yellow Favor Flags die cut in gray ink and attached that to the top of the panel. It’s anchored with a line of machine stitching. The panel is attached to a card base edged with some coordinating chevron patterned paper.

Materials Used:
Baby Shower stamp set, You’re Such a Gray-cious Host ink, My Style Blueprint and Say Yellow to All Your Fans cardstock, Large Baby Shower and Favor Flags dies, Divine Twine yellow baker’s twine (Clear and Simple Stamps); Park Bench 6x6 paper pad (Fancy Pants); Flower Box 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); wiggly eyes (Michaels); sewing machine; foam tape
