Way to Go, Slugger!

Here’s my card for this week’s Muse challenge. I used the layout of Laurie’s card as inspiration for this masculine design. I know a few people finishing up school soon and they’ve come to expect cards from me to mark the end of the school year and this design will be perfect for one of them!

I replaced the trio of medallion images with a trio of baseballs, made by stamping the stitching image in red ink on white cardstock and punching out the image with a circle punch. The trio of baseballs is arranged on an aqua cardstock panel. I used my ScorPal to make a score line just above and below the circles. The “way to go, slugger” sentiment is stamped at the bottom of the card in red ink.

I knotted a piece of red stitched grosgrain ribbon around the top of the panel. I thought the knot was a little less feminine than a bow—and the stitching on the ribbon was a nice tie-in to the stitching on the baseballs, too. The panel is layered on a red cardstock mat, then set on a kraft card base.

Materials Used:
7th Inning Stretch stamp set, Aqua Mist and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Real Red and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Electric Red ink (My Favorite Things); circle punch (EK Success); stitched grosgrain ribbon (Creative Impressions—I think!)
