Enjoy the Season

It’s the middle of summer, but it’s always fun to ink up a snowman stamp! I used a snowman image from the Pure Innocence collection from My Favorite Things for this card made with this week’s sketch from The Paper Players. I also squeezed in two different SCS Dare to Get Dirty challenges. You can find all the info on these challenges here.

I stamped the snowman on shimmery white cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers. For the snowy sky background, I made a piece of marbled looking paper using the polished stone technique. It’s been a while since I tried that technique and I’d forgotten just how pretty it is! And, it was a good thing I had to look through my reinker to do it because I found that my Soft Suede one was leaking. Fortunately, I caught the leak before there was a real mess! After adding a few strips of torn shimmery white paper at the bottom as a snowbank, I used foam tape to adhere the colored image to the panel.

The panel is adhered to a light blue card base over a piece of pink on pink striped designer paper. I added a little sparkle to the paper with a trio of clear crystals along the right side. The set’s “enjoy the season” sentiment is stamped just beneath the image.  I love the soft shades of pink and blue for a wintery design!

Materials Used:
Pure Innocence Thanks Snow Much stamp set (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Silver, Soft Sky and Baja Breeze reinkers, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Shimmery White, and Glossy White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Dots and Stripes-Candy Shoppe designer paper (Echo Park); clear crystals; foam tape
