You're Brrr-fect

This week’s Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Cool Shades challenge. It’s been so hot here this week that instead of going with a patriotic or nautical design like I might usually with these colors, I made a cool wintery one instead! The layout is from this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I used the tall snowman from the Swanky Snowdudes set as my focal image. The snowman is stamped on shimmery white cardstock and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I used dimensional dots to attach the colored image to a piece of navy patterned paper with a snowflake-like pattern on it. The paper is from a boy themed paper pad—if you look around in your patterned paper stash, it’s very likely you’ll come across some non-seasonal papers that will work great on seasonal designs.

The snowman panel is layered on a red mat and set over a pair of paper panels arranged on a kraft card base. The bottom two panels are machine stitched around the edges to add interest and another small pop of white. I stamped the “you’re brrr-fect” sentiment from the Chilly Chums set in white ink on a blue strip and adhered it to the card extending out from under the snowman. I'm  hoping this wintery card helps me to think some cool thoughts on this super warm summer day!
