Apple of my Eye

Here’s my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. I paired Papertrey Ink’s Apple Prints set with a bit of country-style gingham for this sweet design.

I stamped the apple image on the matching apple die cut using a combination of different inks. I did a little selective inking to get the two-toned apple (apple/seeds) and stem (stem/leaves) images on the die cut. It’s adhered to a round panel using foam tape.

I covered a kraft card base with a moss green panel that I partially embossed with a dotted pattern. After adhering two strips of red gingham ribbon to the panel, I attached a strip of kraft cardstock across it, covering the transition between the embossed and unembossed cardstock for a clean look. The image panel is set on top of the kraft strip so that the gingham ribbon strips extend out from the top and bottom of the image panel. I stamped the “you are the apple of my eye” sentiment at the bottom of the card in brown ink.

Materials Used:
Apple Prints stamp set, Spring Moss and Kraft cardstock, Apple Prints dies(Papertrey Ink); Memento Pear Tart ink, Memento Luxe Love Letter and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); Real Red and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); circle dies (Spellbinders); Spotted embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts); red gingham ribbon; foam tape
