Fresh Floral Birthday

Here's my card for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I used the sketch to create a feminine birthday card using Avery Elle's pretty Petals and Stems stamp set.

I stamped one of the flower images in pink ink.  To get a nice, solid image, I used the one of the new Memento Luxe pigment ink--it works beautifully on images like these!  The flower's center was stamped in a contrasting darker pink ink.  I cut out the stamped image and used a dimensional dot to add it to a white panel over a pair of stamped green leaf images.

The "happy birthday to you" sentiment from the Handwritten Notes stamp set is stamped next to the flower.  The clear stamp made it easy to "stack" the words instead of stamping them all in a line as they are on the stamp.

I added a strip of pink on pink dotted patterned paper to the end of the image panel, then rounded the corners.  It's layered on a dark pink panel with matching rounded corners, then set on a pale pink panel on a matching dark pink card base.  The pair of pink enamel dots were the perfect finishing touch.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Avery Elle Petals and Stems and Handwritten Notes stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Pear Tart and Rose Bud inks and Memento Luxe Angel Pink ink, Echo Park Bundle of Joy Dots and Stripes-Girl 6x6 paper pad, Doodlebug Design Cupcake Pink Sprinkles, Sticky Thumb dimensional dots

other:  Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White cardstock (Stampin' Up!); corner rounder
