Thinking of You

Here’s my card for the second Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge. I combined several of the colors from the inspiration photo/color scheme with the current sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping to create this floral design.

This is the first time I’ve used the modern looking blooms from the Funky Flowers set. I stamped them in Memento Luxe inks at the top of a white panel, using a bold red for the flowers, an earthy green for the leaves, and a rich brown for the flower centers.

The stamped panel is layered on a dark brown mat, then set on a green card base. I ran a narrow dark brown scalloped strip across the top of the cardfront, overlapping the top edge of the stamped panel, then knotted a narrow strip of red grosgrain ribbon around the top of the scalloped strip. I stamped the “thinking of you” sentiment from the Compact Sentiments set in brown ink to fill in the open space at the bottom of the stamped panel.

Materials Used:
Funky Flowers and Compact Sentiments stamp sets (Waltzingmouse Stamps); Memento Luxe Love Letter, Pistachio, and Rich Cocoa inks (Tsukineko); Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz cardstock, scallop edge punch (Stampin’ Up!); red grosgrain ribbon (Michaels)
