You Color My World
Here’s my card for this week’s My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge. This is actually my second try at the sketch—the first one didn’t make the cut for the blog!
I used the largest paint brush from the Die-namics Paint Brushes die set to create the brush for my focal image. I cut the different pieces from different cardstock scraps, then assembled them and adhered the finished brush to a pierced circle die cut.
The pierced circle is layered on a white cardfront covered with strips of solid cardstock and patterned paper. I went with a multicolored patterned paper to represent the sketch’s dotted or peekaboo die cut block. Some baker’s twine is wrapped around the top edge of the patterned paper panel and secured with a bow. It adds a nice texture to the design. I stamped the “you color my world” sentiment from one of the Pure Innocence sets on a strip of Pixie Pink cardstock and adhered it to the cardfront extending out from the edge of the paintbrush’s handle.
A trio of enamel dot "paint drops" around the brush was the perfect finishing touch.
Materials Used:
Pure Innocence You Color My World stamp set, Sour Apple and Steel Grey cardstock, Die-namics Paint Brushes and Pierced Circle dies (My Favorite Things); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (Tsukineko); Pixie Pink cardstock (Stampin’ Up!); Hawaiian Shores and Kraft cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Take Note 6x6 paper pad (Doodlebug Design); Caribbean baker’s twine (The Twinery); enamel dots (My Mind’s Eye); foam tape Playing Favorites
