Fall Thank You

Even though it's much more summery than fall-like around here today, I put together a fall inspired card for today's SCS featured stamper challenge.  It's based on this pretty design seen here.  I kept the layout the same, but changed out the butterfly for a seasonal fall leaf.

I used one of the leaves in the Technique Tuesday I Give Thanks stamp set.  I stamped it on each of the yellow squares in Memento Luxe Dandelion ink, then heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder. Once the embossing cooled, I dragged the edges of the cardstock along the surface of the ink pad to add shading to the panel.  The single red square was inked along the edges with a combination of Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk and Toffee Crunch inks.  I stamped the same leaf image on white cardstock and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.  The cutout image is adhered to the red panel with a dimensional dot.  I stamped the set's "thank you" sentiment beneath the red square in Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink.   To finish the design, I used a ruler and a brown marker to draw a simple frame around the cardfront, once again confirming that even with a ruler, I still can't draw a perfectly straight line . . .
