Chevron Birthday

Here's my card for this week's sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch.  I combined the sketch with the current Lawnscaping challenge to focus on a sentiment and with the current brown theme at CAS-ology to come up with this clean and simple masculine birthday design.

Happy Birthday-Designed by Lori Tecler-Inking Aloud-stamps from Lawn Fawn
I used the smallest chevron image from Lawn Fawn's Chevron Backdrops set to make the graphic pattern at the bottom of the card.  To get the chevrons stamped at different angles, I did a little masking with sticky notes along with my stamping.  The chevrons are stamped in kraft colored pigment ink for a nice, rich look against the kraft cardstock.  Once the ink had dried, I used an ink blending tool to add a little distress ink around the panel's edges.

For a little contrast to the kraft chevrons, I stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment from the So Much to Say set in a darker brown ink, following the angle of the stamped chevrons.  I matted the stamped panel on a dark brown card base, then added a trio of enamel dots around the sentiment.

Materials Used:
from i {heart} papers:  Lawn Fawn Chevron Backdrops and So Much to Say stamp sets, Tsukineko Memento Luxe Toffee Crunch and Rich Cocoa inks, Doodlebug Design Bon Bon Brown Sprinkles enamel dots

other:  Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Desert Storm cardstock (Neenah); Antique Linen and Tea Dye distress inks (Ranger)
